郭嘉璇的哥哥告诉记者，19日晚上7时许，他接到北京天坛医院的消息称：“心脏停止跳动了，人已经不行了，生命体征都没办法维持了，让家属做决定。”晚上8时许，亲属决定放弃治疗。随后，医院宣布郭嘉璇去世。
“见到弟弟最后一面时，身上都是抢救留下的瘀青，实在是不忍心看。”郭嘉璇的哥哥说，明天就是弟弟19岁生日了，只差几个小时了。他还表示，截至目前，他们仍未收到事发时的比赛视频、送医经过，以及弟弟的参保信息。
